Macau SAR unveils "Standards for the use of Food Additives in Food"

The Macau SAR Executive Council has completed the public consultation on the draft regulation "Standards for the use of Food Additives in Food". The Standards includes a list of permitted food additives as well as food categories where additives can be added and maximum food additives' level in specific food categories.

In order to better align with international standards and further improve the legal system of food safety, these Standards are formulated with reference to the latest Codex Alimentarius Commission standards, national food safety standards and standards of neighbouring countries.
