FDA reviews registration and management requirements for acidified foods and thermally processed low-acid foods

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued Notice 2023-22461, proposing to revise the registration management requirements for acidified foods and thermally processed low-acid foods in hermetically sealed containers.

The notice requires food enterprises producing acid canned food, low acid hot processed canned food, high water activity canned food, low acid sterile canned food to declare the production process to FDA through electronic or physical means.
