Carbomer authorized as a food additive in European Union

In Commission Regulation (EU) 2023/440 of 28 February 2023, the food additive ‘carbomer’ (E 1210) was authorized for use in liquid food supplements at the maximum level of 30 000 mg/kg and in solid food supplements at maximum level of 200 000 mg/kg. Further, the specifications for carbomer (E 1210) were provided and will be later included in Regulation (EU) No 231/2012.
