Amendment to the use and levels of L -Cysteine

Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) announced the revision to the Second Schedule of the “Standards for Specification, Scope, Application and Limitation of Food Additives”.
The amendment contemplates the use in appropriate amounts in special nutritional foods according to actual needs, the new "may be used for daily consumption" is added. In limited foods, the total content of L-cystine in the daily consumption should not exceed 500 mg".
