SAMR proposes addition of edible period to the labels of low-temperature dairy products

The State Administration for Market Regulation announced the addition of expiration date on the packaging labels of Low temperature short-life dairy products.
The proposal highlights the following key points for consumer awareness:
Easy identification of expiration date.
Shelf life no longer than 14 days for Pasteurized milk and 30 days for Fermented milk, on the basis of existing production date.
The label content should comply with National Food Safety Standard Pre-packaged Product Standards General Rules (GB7718-2011).
Label must be eye catching and easy to read.
The draft is open for public comments until July 04, 2021.
