ANVISA proposes to modify the regulation on food additives

The National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA in Portuguese) has published Public Consultation No. 1.299/2024 and Public Consultation No. 1.300/2024, proposal for normative Instruction amending Normative Instruction - IN No. 211, dated March 1, 2023, which establishes the technological functions, maximum limits and conditions of use of food additives and technological aids and authorized for use in food.

INCLUSIONS IN THE LIST OF FOOD ADDITIVES

Dry industrialized processed meat products:

Acetic acid (glacial), Maximum limit: 20000 mg/kg.
