FSSAI proposes amendment to food additive regulation

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has published issued the draft Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2024, to further amend the Food safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011.
In Appendix A, under the heading “IV. Use of Food Additives in Food Products”, In Table 1, against the entries relating to Food Category System 1.2.1.1: Fermented milks (plain) not heat treated after fermentation and against the entries relating to Food Category System 1.7: Dairy based desserts, shall be amended.
