China opens consultation period on new food additives varieties

Following a technical review by an export review group, on the 24th of June, 2024, the Chinese National Center for Food Safety Risk Assessment (CFSA) announces a public consultation on nine new varieties of food additives, including steviol glycosides, 2'-fucosyllactose and lactose-N-tetrasaccharide as new varieties of substances for fortification and sodium cyclamate as a sweetening substance.
