South Korea prohibits THC or CBD in labeling and advertising of food products

On the 11th of June, 2024, the South Korean Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Notice No. 2024-23, amending parts of the Content Standards for Inappropriate Labeling or Advertising of Food Products. The amendment includes aspects related to the  list of food names similar to Korean prescription drug names that can be considered drugs and prohibits the use of the name or content of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) or cannabidiol (CBD), for labeling, advertising, etc. of food products.
