MHLW introduces updated standards for food additives

The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare (MHLW) has published updates (Notice No. 29) to the Specifications and Standards for Food Additives. The updates include various aspects, such as testing and experimentation requirements for food additives, ingredient specifications for additive ingredients, storage requirements, as well as manufacturing and use requirements. To facilitate companies' better adaptation to the new standards, MHLW has granted them a one-year transition period.
