Polyvinyl Alcohol authorized as food additive

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has published the "Amendment to the Ordinance for Enforcement of the Food Sanitation Act and the Specifications and Standards for Food Additives". The amendment authorizes Polyvinyl Alcohol as a food additive and establishes compositional specifications and use standards for this additive pursuant to Article 13 of the Food Sanitation Act.
