New positive list for additives used in food contact materials

The Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare (MHLW) has published the "Amendment to the Specifications and Standards for Foods, Food Additives, Etc.", amending the specifications for synthetic resin used for food apparatus, containers, and packaging (ACP), as stipulated in the "Specifications and Standards for Foods, Food Additives, Etc. (Public Notice of Ministry of Health and Welfare No. 370 of 1959; "the Public Notice")".
MHLW has drafted a new Positive List and will amend the existing Positive List in the Public Notice. The amendment of the Positive List will be enforced from June 1, 2025.
