Applications of new enzymes as a processing aid published

The Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has published a new application for approval of GM Bacillus subtilis alpha-amylase as a processing aid. This application seeks approval to amend the Australian and New Zealand Food Standards Code to allow alpha-amylase from a genetically modified strain of Bacillus subtilis containing the alpha-amylase gene from Thermoactinomyces vulgaris as a processing aid in the manufacture of bakery products.
