New enzymes as processing aids

The Food Standards Australia & New Zealand (FSANZ) published various projects using enzymes as a processing aid.

  • Application A1220 – Beta-amylase from GM Bacillus licheniformis as a processing aid:To permit the use of beta-amylase from a genetically modified strain of Bacillus licheniformis in starch processing for maltose syrup production.
  • Application A1221 – Phospholipase A1 from GM Aspergillus niger as a processing aid: To permit the use of phospholipase A1 from a genetically modified strain of Aspergillus niger as a processing aid during degumming of vegetable oils and fats.​
  • Application A1224 - Glucose oxidase from Penicillium rubens as processing aid: ​To permit the enzyme glucose oxidase sourced from Penicillium rubens as a processing aid for use in the production of various foods and beverages.
