FDA proposes to revise the usage standards of cannabis in food

 

Thai Food and Drug Administration (FDA) consulted on four regulations related to food containing cannabis.

Dr. Withit Saritsadeechaikul, deputy secretary general of the Food and Drug Administration, revealed that by unblocking hemp cannabis as of June 9, 2022, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has responded to the request to update regulations to allow entrepreneurs to produce quality health products and respond to consumer demand, however, the use of cannabis, hemp and CBD extracts as ingredients in foods produced for sale is under review. There must be quality and safety control in accordance with the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No. 425) B.E. Hemp seed oil Hemp seed protein (No. 427) BE 2021 Food products using bark, stalk, fiber and branches, roots and leaves without buds (No. 429) BE 2021.
