Draft technical standard on definitions and technical criteria for foods and food ingredients suitable for vegetarians or vegans and for labelling and claims

Ecuador launched a draft technical standard to set out rules for foods and food ingredients for vegetarians or vegans as well as for the labelling and claims in those products. Although it would be voluntary, Ecuadorean Technical Standards are the main reference for the registration of food products.

Proposed date of entry into force: Six months from the date of adoption.
