EFSA PROVIDES POSITIVE OPINION ON VITAMIN D2 MUSHROOM POWDER

The European Food Safety Authority has published a favourable opinion for the use of vitamin D2 mushroom powder for use in general foods and beverages as well as fortified foods and food supplements. The vitamin D2 is produced by exposing Agaricus bisporus mushroom to ultra-violet light.
EFSA considers the use of vitamin D2 (ergocalciferol) in concentrations 1,000â1,300 µg/g safe for human consumption.
