Ministry of Industry and Trade proposes to introduce labeling on sports nutrition products from 2025 onwards

The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade proposes to gradually introduce mandatory labeling of sports nutrition starting from September 1, 2025.
As the Ministry notes, technological solutions that can be used in sports nutrition labeling are already being used within the framework of mandatory labeling of biologically active food supplements that have similar types of consumer packaging. At the same time, a significant part of the participants working with sports nutrition are already in the mandatory labeling of dietary supplements from October 1, 2023 and are familiar with the details of the labeling information system, the Ministry of Industry and Trade emphasized.
In addition, the initiative to introduce mandatory labeling of specialized sports nutrition products was presented by Rospotrebnadzor and representatives of the business sector, the Ministry added.
