Florida Senate approves bill to require warnings on foods containing food dyes

In a bipartisan effort, a Florida House panel approved House Bill 641, which proposes to require clear warnings on products containing harmful dyes and give the state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services responsibility for inspecting foods to ensure compliance.
Proponents of the initiative note that many food companies have reformulated their products for other countries with stricter regulations, while it is not yet clear whether they will do the same in Florida.
