New Polish Regulation of the Minister of Health on fortifying substances added to food

The Regulation of the Minister of Health of March 13, 2024 on fortifying substances added to food entered into force on April 5, 2024. The Regulation repealed the previous regulation of the Minister of Health of September 16, 2010 on fortifying substances added to food.
The new Regulation specifies:
- A list of substances other than vitamins and minerals prohibited in the production of foodstuffs;
- The foodstuffs to which vitamins and minerals are obligatorily added; and
- The levels or maximum levels of vitamins and minerals.
The Regulation will enter into force on April 5, 2024. Foodstuffs containing substances other than vitamins and minerals, listed in the annex to the regulation, placed on the market in Poland before April 5, 2024, can remain on the market for no longer than 30 days from the date of entry into force of the regulation.
