UK seeks advice on removing obsolete EU food laws on food and drinks

The Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) has published a consultation to review 60 food and drink assimilated laws inherited from the EU.The reasoning behind this is that they believe that many of these laws are obsolete and intend to revoke them.There are some DEFRA would like to amend to take into account the domestic law context in which they now apply. Changing these laws would note a further step away from the EU following Brexit.
