New bill in US senate to reduce harmful toxins in baby food

On May 9th, U.S. Senators Klobuchar and Duckworth, alongside Representatives Krishnamoorthi and Cárdenas, introduced the Baby Food Safety Act of 2024. This legislation aims to restrict harmful heavy metals in commercial infant and toddler food, mandating FDA-enforced limits and stricter testing for contaminants. Recent recalls due to lead contamination highlight the urgent need for such measures.
