The European Parliament votes to allow vegetarian sausages and rejects the use of dairy terms for plant-based products

The European Parliament has voted down a motion that would have banned meatless (Amendment 165) food products from having names associated with meat. But nondairy foods must now avoid referring to milk or cheese (Amendment 171) in their descriptions.
