The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has collaborated with the Health and Dietary Supplement Association of the Philippines (HADSAP) to reinforce regulatory standards and industry compliance for health supplements.
Both initiatives focus on policy development for traditional medicines and health supplements which are widely used in the country.
The FDA drafted an administrative order (AO) detailing good manufacturing practice and registration requirements for health supplements to foster transparency and industry collaboration.
“This document is open for stakeholder comments on the FDA website, with public consultations scheduled within March,” the FDA said.
The HADSAP, meanwhile, requested the support of the FDA to reinforce its efforts and promote broader industry participation.
The FDA assured the public that it is committed to safeguarding public health while supporting responsible industry growth.
