Canada
Dec 05, 2024
Bill C-368 successfully advanced through the committee stage in the House of Commons—a critical milestone in safeguarding Canadians’ access to natural health products (NHPs). The bill is part of the Canadian Health Food Association’s (CHFA) Save Our Supplements campaign, launched in response to concerns over regulatory changes that could jeopardize the availability and affordability of NHPs.
The legislation, introduced by Conservative MP Blaine Calkins, seeks to reverse provisions in the 2023 budget that categorized NHPs as therapeutic products under Vanessa’s Law. Critics argue that this move imposes excessive regulatory burdens on the industry.
