Rospotrebnadzor banned in pharmacies the sale of dietary supplements with melatonin and simethicone

At the request of Rospotrebnadzor, the operator of the state labeling system “Honest Sign” suspended the possibility of retail sale of biologically active food additives (hereinafter referred to as dietary supplements) containing melatonin and simethicone, which are prohibited in the production of such products. . In total, the sale of 5.5 million packages of dietary supplements from 44 manufacturers and 31 importers was blocked, including 2.4 million units of dietary supplements containing simethicone and more than 3.1 million units of dietary supplements containing melatonin.
According to the Customs Union technical regulation “On the safety of foodstuffs” (TR CU 021/2011), melatonin and simethicone are prohibited substances in dietary supplements.
The labeling system allows not only to track each product unit in real time, but also to act promptly in case of establishing facts of circulation of products that do not meet the requirements of the current legislation.
