FAO publishes evaluation of the safety of certain contaminants in food

The Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives (JECFA) has published a new safety evaluation report on specific food contaminants.
The report, from JECFA’s ninety-third meeting held virtually from March 24 to April 1, 2022, focuses on the trichothecenes T-2, HT-2, and 4,15-diacetoxyscirpenol (DAS). Building on exposure assessments from their ninetieth meeting, the Committee reviewed toxicological data and conducted a comprehensive safety reevaluation.
