FDA proposed to revise the standards for registration criteria and procedures for Health Supplements

The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (FDA) issued Circular No. 1557, proposing to amend the standards and procedures for the registration of health food products. The proposed amendments are related to the list of vitamins and minerals as follows: 

  • the maximum daily intake of selenium for pregnant women and nursing mothers should not exceed 65 μg; and
  • the maximum daily intake of zinc in Schedule 1 is revised from 25 mg to 30 mg.
