New rules for dietary supplements handling companies in Michigan

The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (MDARD) is implementing licensing and inspection requirements for companies handling dietary supplements in Michigan.
Companies processing, packing, or repackaging dietary supplements will be required to obtain a food establishment license through the MDARD. License applications and annual renewals are due by April 30, each year. Online application using MDARD’s Licensing Portal System (LPS) is recommended.
The new provisions are effective from the first of May, 2025.
