SAMR asks companies to make production date and shelf life easier to find on labels

The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has issued an announcement to encourage food companies to optimize the production date and shelf life labeling of prepackaged foods.
SAMR encourages the companies to clearly mark this information on the primary display of the food package. For example, dates should always be marked on the outer packaging, so the consumer can see them without having to open the packaging. Moreover, if a package contains a message similar to "see a particular location on the packaging", that location should be clear and obvious. The description should be easy to find.
