ANVISA publishes instructions for regularization of different food categories and packaging

The National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA in Portuguese) has published the Normative Instruction IN No. 281 which establishes the form of regularization of different categories of food and packaging and the respective documentation that must be presented to the competent authorities.
The main news is the regularization through notification which is applicable to those food products considered to be of intermediate risk, as per Annex II of IN No. 281/2024, such as transitional baby foods and cereals for baby food, recycled packaging, food with claims of functional and/or health properties.
This Normative Instruction comes into force on September 1, 2024.
