Health alert issued for the presence of sildenafil in food supplement

The Spanish Agency for Food Safety and Nutrition (AESAN in Spanish) has informed about an alert notification sent by the health authorities of the autonomous community of Catalonia through the Coordinated System for the Rapid Exchange of Information (SCIRI in Spanish), regarding the presence of Sildenalyl in the ginger-based food supplement POPS, which may cause sever adverse reactions.
The active substance is not declared on the product's label and it may have pharmacological effects and pose health risks to the people who consume the food supplement.
