Mandatory registration of foreign manufacturers

The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) issued an order on foreign food manufacturer registration, making it mandatory for foreign food manufacturing facilities to register with FSSAI when exporting the following food categories to India.
- Milk and milk products.
- Meat and meat products, including poultry, fish and their products.
- Egg powder.
- Infant Food.
- Nutraceuticals.
The competent authorities of the exporting countries should provide the list of current manufacturers of these food products as well as those planning to export such products.
