Amendments to Regulation on natural health products
Canada
Jul 18, 2022
Health Canada has amended the Natural Health Products Regulations (Canadian Gazette, Part II.). Among other things, these amendments make changes to the labelling requirements that govern natural health products (NHP) that are sold in Canada. Health Canada also published a new guidance document to supplement the amended regulations. The new labelling requirements will come into force in three years and product licence holders will have an additional three years from that date to re-label their NHPs in accordance with the new requirements.
he Natural Health Products Directorate (NHPD) has changed its name to the Natural and Non-prescription Health Products Directorate (NNHPD) subsequent to its recently expanded mandate to include the oversight of non-prescription and disinfectant drugs in addition to natural health products (NHPs).
