ANVISA publishes norm for the classification of foods based on cereals as whole cereals

ANVISA published, the Resolution of the Collegiate Board (RDC) 493/2021, which defines rules for the classification of a cereal-based food as integral or to highlight the presence of integral ingredients in these foods.

Foods that contain cereal can be classified as less than 30% whole ingredients and, in addition, have a number of whole ingredients higher than the number of refined ingredients.
