LATVIA NOTIFIES LIST OF BOTANICALS PROHIBITED FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION

To protect consumers from the consumption of harmful substances, Latvia has announced the adoption of a list of prohibited plants and parts of plant for use in foods. Foods is understood in a wide sense comprising among other food supplements, herbal teas, syrups, extracts and mixed seasonings. For a number of plants, the list specifies the specific part of the plant which use is restricted.
