First ANVISA meeting on regulatory impact analysis of foods of plant origin

On October 26 and 27, the National Health Surveillance Agency (ANVISA in Spanish) held virtual workshops on plant-based foods, i.e., products based on plant-based ingredients that seek similarity in appearance, texture and other characteristics of traditional animal products such as milk, meat and meat products. such as hamburgers, fish and eggs. The initiative is an initial activity of the Agency to develop the Regulatory Impact Analysis (RIA) on the subject. The objective of the workshops was to obtain elements for the identification and analysis of the regulatory problem, its causes and consequences, in addition to mapping the agents affected by it.
