Jul 10, 2024
On the 8th of July, 2024, the UK's Food Standards Agency (FSA) initiated a call for evidence regarding ashwagandha in food supplements, open until September 2, 2024.
Aimed at stakeholders, including Food Business Operators, experts, and consumer groups, the call seeks information on safety assessments, product formulations, and market data. Ashwagandha's rising popularity in supplements, attributed to stress relief and other health benefits, prompts the FSA's risk assessment to establish safe usage levels.
FSA invites stakeholders to contribute scientific data, toxicological studies, and consumer feedback to inform future regulatory advice.
