Ecuador proposes amendments to processed food regulations

The National Agency for Regulation, Control, and Sanitary Surveillance (ARCSA) has proposed amendments to the 2022 Resolution ARCSA-DE-2022-016-AKRG, targeting processed food, processing plants, and distribution establishments.
The proposed changes aim to update technical health standards, streamline processes, and enhance the safety and quality of food products. Key modifications include adjustments to licensing, quality control measures, and compliance protocols.
The new regulations will take effect six months after their official publication
