European Commission updated hygiene requirements for animal products

On the 19th of April, the European Commission issued a delegated regulation to amend Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 on the hygiene requirements for meat, fish, dairy, and eggs. Experiences gained on the application of the regulation and new scientific evidence are taken into account. Changes were made to identification marking, slaughter on the farm of small animals, transport of meat, aged meat, milk, stiffening of fish and unintended extraneous odor of eggs.
