Draft law to fight against food waste

The Spanish Council of Ministers has approved the draft Law on the prevention of food losses and food waste, proposed by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food.
The new draft measure, focused on the prevention and awareness of all actors in the food chain, seeks to encourage the efficient use of food, its recovery, the reuse of by-products and the donation of food, thus contributing to meeting the food needs of the most vulnerable populations. It also sets out good practice measures such as incentives for the consumption of foods considered unaesthetic, seasonal foods and organic foods.
