Calls for submission on GM Aspergillus niger as new processing aid

The Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has published Application A1271, which seeks to amend the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code to permit cellulase from genetically modified Aspergillus niger to be used as a processing aid in brewing of beer and in distilled alcohol production.

Deadline for comments submissions is 3 November 2023.
