CFIA announces recall of caffeinated energy drinks

Canada

Aug 16, 2023

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) has issued recall warnings about various brands of caffeinated drinks.

CFIA advises that it has information on importers, retailers and online retailers selling caffeinated energy drinks (CEDs) that do not comply with the requirements. CFIA reminds that marketers are responsible for ensuring that it is mandatory to comply with the requirements of Canadian legislation, especially that these products contain no more than 180 mg of caffeine in a single-serving container and carry the required warnings.

These pre-packaged foods can be beverages or dry mixes and are considered as supplemented foods (SF).
