Amendment on use of polyols in confectionery products published by the Commission

In Part E of Annex II to Regulation (EC) No 1333/2008, in food category 05.2 âOther confectionery including breath refreshening microsweetsâ, the following entry is inserted after entry for Group IV âPolyolsâ uthorized with the restriction âonly for crystallised fruit, energy-reduced or with no added sugarâ:
Group IV / Polyols/ quantum satis
Only hard candies and lollies, chewy candies, fruit gums and foam sugar products/marshmallows, liquorice, nougat, marzipan, breath freshening micro-sweets and strongly flavoured freshening throat pastilles, energy-reduced or with no added sugarâ
