Japan Updates the Requirements of Dairy Products’ Sanitary Certificates

The certificate has been updated to satisfy a new requirement under Japan’s Food Sanitation Law which will enter into force on June 1, 2020. Japanese authorities will accept both the previous and new versions of the certificate until May 31, 2020. 

The certificate is applicable to the following dairy products: Harmonized Schedule (HS) Codes 0401 (Milk and cream, etc.); 0402 (Milk and cream, etc.); 0403 (Buttermilk, etc.); 0404 (Whey, etc.); 0405 (Butter, etc.); 0406 (Cheese, etc.); and 3502.20, 3502.90 (Milk albumins, etc.).
