On March 13ï¼2018, State Councilor Wang Yong explained plan for institutional reform of the State Council on the 1st Session of the 13th National People's Congress. Plans regarding food supervision were as follows: China Food and Market Supervision and Administration would be established, State Administration for Industry & Commerce, General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine and China Food and Drug Administration (AQSIQ) would be canceled, and inspection and quarantine duties and team of AQSIQ were incorporated into General Administration of Customs. The final scheme should be approved by National People's Congress.
