New oligosaccharide as a nutrient in infant formulas

The Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ) has published in Notification Circular 344-25 the revision for Application A1324 - 3-fucosyllactose as a nutritive substance in infant formula products to permit the voluntary addition of 3-fucosyllactose, a human-identical milk oligosaccharide, in infant formula products. 3-Fucosyllactose is produced using genetically modified Escherichia coli K-12.
