Oct 23, 2024
The State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has issued the “Guidelines for the Registration of Ingredients and Other Substances for Infant Formula Foods” with the aim of further standardizing the work on the submission of ingredients and food additives for infant formula, formulas and the labeling of these products.
The Guidelines describe presentation, presentation content, presentation process, presentation management requirements, as well as specific information and presentation requirements for food ingredients and other issues. For manufacturing enterprises planning to produce and sell infant formula within the territory of the PRC, after obtaining formula registration and production license, before officially starting production, they should submit food raw materials, food additives, product formulas and labels to the local provincial market in accordance with the law.
For food raw materials and food additives, the main information to be registered is the name, brand name, place of origin/country, packaging specifications, quality requirements/implementation standard number of the raw material (food additive), supplier's name, manufacturer's name and other information.
