FSS to analyze final report of CMA market study on infant formula market

Food Standard Scotland (FSS) has issued its opinion on the final report of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) market study on the infant formula market and the recommendations made in respect of the infant formula and follow-on formula regulations.
FSS considers that the issue of infant formula and follow-on formula is a devolved matter and that in Scotland the policy responsibility for these regulations rests with the FSS. In its statement, FSS states that it will analyze the recommendations made by the CMA in relation to the regulations for Scotland and discuss them in the four UK countries through the framework group on nutrition labeling and compositional standards.
