MFDS proposes amending regulations to limit advertising time for high-calorie foods

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS) issued Announcement No. 2024-516, which proposes to amend parts of the Enforcement Decree of the Special Act on the Administration of Children's Dietary and Life Safety. In the event that advertisements contain foods high in calories, low in nutrients and high in caffeine, some of the advertisement time will be restricted or the scope of broadcast programs that may be prohibited from broadcasting advertisements will be adjusted to reasonably enhance the restriction on the broadcasting of advertisements.
